The associate is tasked with moving incoming merchandise efficiently onto the sales floor and setting up seasonal displays that align with customer needs and store standards. This role requires a combination of physical activity and creativity, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a dynamic retail environment. Associates work primarily during opening and morning shifts and contribute to the overall store operations by ensuring that the food and consumable sections are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $16 to $29 per hour, ensuring that the compensation meets or exceeds the applicable minimum wage for the job location. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance incentives and specific premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. These premiums range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, and multiple premiums may be applicable to maximize earnings.
Walmart offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of its employees. This includes health benefits such as medical, vision, and dental coverage, as well as financial benefits including a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off benefits cover parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting, alongside short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and reimbursements for adoption and surrogacy expenses. In addition, associates qualify for PTO and/or PPTO for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes, reflective of their job classification and length of service.
Moreover, Walmart invests in its employees' education through the Live Better U program, which fully covers tuition, books, and fees for various educational programs ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. This educational benefit is available to both full-time and part-time associates, underlining Walmart’s commitment to career development and lifelong learning.
Walmart maintains a drug-free workplace policy to ensure a safe and productive work environment, showing a zero-tolerance approach to illegal drugs and alcohol on the job. This policy applies to all employees, reinforcing the company's dedication to safety and employee health.
