Currently, Chartwells K12 is hiring for a full-time Food Transporter/Delivery Driver position located within the Troy School District in Troy, Michigan. This role is essential in supporting the smooth delivery and distribution of food supplies and products across school facilities. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, offering a stable full-time routine with competitive hourly pay of $22.00. This position requires candidates to have prior experience operating a box truck and be capable of handling up to 50 pounds of lifting, highlighting the physical and operational demands of the role.

This Food Transporter/Delivery Driver is responsible for timely and safe delivery of requisitioned supplies, food, and equipment to various program sites. Candidates will work closely with staging clerks and other team members to ensure orders are accurately picked up, inventoried, loaded, and unloaded, all while strictly adhering to sanitation, safety, and company standards. Maintaining the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the delivery vehicle is also a critical aspect of this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior box truck operating experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • valid state driver’s license
  • valid food handler’s permit where required
  • ability to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • reliable transportation to and from work
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Duties

  • Pick up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk
  • receive completed production orders and inventory items
  • load orders onto truck safely with assistance
  • unload requisitioned materials at delivery sites
  • follow sanitation and safety guidelines handling food and equipment
  • ensure hot and cold foods comply with safety standards
  • collect empty containers and rejected merchandise
  • maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle
  • perform routine truck maintenance
  • interact with coworkers to uphold service standards
  • provide quality customer service with attention to detail
  • perform other duties as assigned
