The Food Transporter/Delivery Driver position at the Higley Unified School District in Gilbert, AZ, is a full-time role scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm based on the school calendar. This role involves delivering food, supplies, and other products to various service units and areas within the school district using a company vehicle. The successful candidate plays a vital role in maintaining the timely and safe transportation of food and materials, ensuring compliance with all sanitation and safety guidelines mandated by the company. Responsibilities include picking up requisitioned supplies, receiving completed production orders, inventory verification, loading and unloading delivery materials safely, and maintaining cleanliness and routine maintenance of the assigned vehicle. This position requires someone who can handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and operate a vehicle safely in adherence to traffic laws.

A key emphasis of this role is customer service, as the Food Transporter/Delivery Driver interacts with coworkers and service recipients to uphold company standards and ensure satisfaction. Prior delivery driver experience is preferred, but the company offers training for motivated candidates committed to contributing effectively to the Chartwells K12 mission. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Valid food handler’s permit where required
  • Prior delivery driver experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely in compliance with traffic laws
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, following the school calendar
  • Ability to provide quality customer service

Job Duties

  • Picks up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk
  • Receives completed production orders from staging clerk
  • Inventories items to ensure completion of production orders
  • Loads orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe, orderly manner
  • Unloads requisitioned materials at delivery site
  • Follows sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
  • Ensures hot and cold food items compliance with company standards and safety requirements
  • Collects empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
  • Maintains cleanliness of assigned vehicle
  • Performs routine maintenance on truck
  • Interacts with coworkers to ensure company service standards
  • Provides quality customer service
  • Performs other duties as assigned
