Compass Group is currently hiring immediate full and part-time Food Transporter/Delivery Driver positions at the University of Houston location. These roles are critical to the success of campus dining operations, involving the transportation and delivery of food, supplies, and other products efficiently and safely across units and service areas. The positions require flexible availability, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the varied schedules of educational institution services.

As a Food Transporter/Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in maintaining the seamless supply chain of food and related products within the university campus. Your responsibilities will include picking up requisitioned supplies, receiving production orders, ensuring the accuracy of inventories, and delivering materials while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. This position demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a customer-focused attitude to provide quality service. You will be responsible for the upkeep and general cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, performing routine maintenance checks to ensure reliability.

Candidates must have prior driving experience and a valid state driver’s license. A food handler’s permit is required where applicable, reflecting the position’s involvement with handling food products safely. Job Duties

  • pick up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk
  • receive completed production orders from staging clerk
  • inventory items to ensure completion of production orders
  • load orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe orderly manner
  • unload requisitioned materials at delivery site
  • follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
  • ensure hot and cold food items comply with company standards and sanitation requirements
  • collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
  • maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle
  • perform routine maintenance on truck
  • interact with coworkers to ensure company service standards
  • provide quality customer service with attention to detail
  • perform other duties as assigned
