The current opportunity is for a full-time Food Transporter/Delivery Driver position based at Jesse Helms Nursing located at 1104 Dove Street, Monroe, NC 28112. This role is pivotal in supporting the seamless delivery of food, supplies, and other essential products across healthcare units and service areas using a vehicle. The Food Transporter/Delivery Driver will adhere strictly to sanitation and safety guidelines while ensuring that hot and cold food items remain within company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements. This position demands a high level of responsibility not only for the quality and timely delivery of these items but also for the upkeep and safe operation of the assigned vehicle.
As a full-time role, the schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with days and hours subject to variability, providing flexibility and requiring adaptability to meet operational demands. The position offers a competitive fixed pay rate of $18.85 per hour. Candidates will need to have previous food service and transporting experience within a healthcare setting, highlighting the importance of familiarity with specialized regulations and standards for food handling in such environments.
In this role, the Food Transporter/Delivery Driver works closely with staging clerks and other team members to pick up requisitioned supplies, receive completed production orders, inventory items, and safely load and unload orders. A key responsibility includes maintaining the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the delivery vehicle, ensuring safety and efficiency in transportation. Interaction with coworkers is important to maintain company service standards and to provide quality customer service through one-on-one attention to detail.
