The Food Supervisor role at Sodexo, located in Chicago at the Discover Financial site, is a full-time position offering a competitive pay range of $19 to $23 per hour. This role is essential for maintaining high standards in food operations, acting as a critical link between management and frontline service employees. The Food Supervisor ensures smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations within various food service settings such as fast casual dining, coffee and counter service, cafeterias, banquets, casual dining, and cafes.

In this role, you will provide immediate oversight and support to the management team, coordinating the activities of service employees to deliver exceptional food and service experiences. You will assist in creating a safe and welcoming working environment, champion employee orientation and training programs, and directly engage with customers to guarantee satisfaction by addressing quality, service, and any issues that arise promptly and effectively. Your ability to multitask and manage time efficiently will be critical in overseeing varying business requirements and client expectations.

Job Duties

  • Provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees
  • Facilitate orientation and training of employees
  • Work with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
