Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in providing integrated facilities management and food services, known for its commitment to enhancing quality of life in the communities it serves. The company operates worldwide, offering a broad range of services including catering, food service, facilities management, and other tailored solutions designed to improve the day-to-day experience of clients and their customers. At Sodexo, employees are valued for who they are and are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives and talents to the workplace, fostering a culture of inclusion and respect. Sodexo prides itself on its emphasis on equal employment opportunities, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background or personal characteristics, have the chance to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the organization's success.
Situated within the UTMB Health League City Campus Hospital, the Food Supervisor role at Sodexo represents a dynamic and multifaceted position, essential for maintaining the high service standards expected in busy healthcare environments. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.00 and requires open availability with varying shifts to effectively meet the demands of the operation. As a Food Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily food service operations across several formats including fast casual dining, coffee and counter service, cafeterias, events, banquets, casual dining, and cafes.
The Food Supervisor functions as a key liaison between management and food service employees, ensuring that operational goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This position involves multitasking and managing multiple priorities simultaneously, guaranteeing that food service runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for supporting management by coordinating work activities for service employees, facilitating employee orientation and training, and helping to nurture a safe and healthy working environment for all staff.
Customer satisfaction is at the core of this role, requiring the supervisor to actively engage with customers to resolve issues related to quality and service. Dependability and punctuality are paramount, as is the ability to adapt to the busy and varied nature of food service in a hospital setting. The role may also involve additional duties as assigned, which can differ based on specific client and business needs.
Sodexo offers a supportive and flexible work environment designed to respect personal life while promoting professional growth. Opportunities for ongoing training and development enable employees to transform their job roles into rewarding careers. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package encompassing paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, discount programs, and more. Some locations may also provide additional site-specific perks such as free or subsidized meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and support for transportation costs.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a global community dedicated to making a meaningful difference—both for the people they serve and within their own team. The organization places high value on creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels respected and heard, making this an excellent opportunity for those who are committed, reliable, and passionate about contributing to a positive workplace and customer experience.
