They are committed to upholding stringent safety standards, employee well-being, and offering a supportive work environment. As an essential service provider, this organization emphasizes operational continuity even during inclement weather or campus closures, highlighting the dependability and critical nature of their work.

The role being offered is that of a Service/Maintenance food service worker, an integral part of the team responsible for food preparation, service, and cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This is a service/maintenance position located in Norman with a competitive pay rate starting at $13.00 hourly, reflecting experience. The working hours are scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, establishing a consistent daytime shift suitable for those seeking regular weekday employment.

In this role, employees are expected to prepare food items by following established recipes and portion control standards meticulously. The position also entails serving food courteously to customers, managing food carts for efficient transport to various serving areas, and maintaining cleanliness standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

Moreover, the job requires involvement in special event support across the university campuses, which may include high-profile luncheons, catering services, and other organizational events. This provides an excellent opportunity for employees to engage with diverse food service scenarios and gain broader operational experience. The employee is expected to work collaboratively with fellow food services staff and proactively assist wherever needed to support smooth kitchen operations.

This position is considered essential, meaning individuals must be prepared to work even during severe weather or campus schedule disruptions, emphasizing reliability and dedication. Uniforms are provided at no cost but must be maintained by the employee to meet company standards. Additional health requirements such as Hepatitis A vaccination are mandatory, underscoring the organization's commitment to public health and safety.

Employees working a 5-hour shift are typically offered a complimentary meal, reflecting the company’s effort to provide added value and support to their workforce. The work environment promotes professional growth through the use of industry-standard kitchen equipment and procedures, making this role ideal for individuals passionate about food service and looking to build a career in this field.
