Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Cleveland County Food Handlers Card required within 30 days of hire and maintained every other year
  • Hepatitis A vaccine required if hired or annual testing
  • ServSafe Certification
  • 6 months of restaurant kitchen or cooking experience
  • willingness to work varied shifts including during university closures
  • ability to wear and maintain uniform
  • pass a background check

  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • effective communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines

Job Duties

  • Prepare food following recipes and apply portion control standards
  • measure, weigh, and combine ingredients for quantity preparation
  • utilize kitchen utensils and heavy/industrial equipment for food preparation
  • serve food courteously with proper portion control and menu knowledge
  • load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers safely and timely
  • wash, sanitize, and store kitchen utensils and equipment
  • clean tables, counters, floors and follow kitchen sanitation standards
  • assist with special events and catering
  • support other food services staff when necessary
