The Food Services Team Leader role at Chick-fil-A Jefferson Pointe (often known in other establishments as Assistant Manager, Shift Lead, or Lead) presents an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals seeking leadership experience in the food service industry, even with no prior food service background required. This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $45,000 to $50,000 per year, along with a standard schedule that averages 45 hours per week, typically from 2 pm to 11 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays off. This ensures a balanced work-life arrangement uncommon in the restaurant industry.

In this role, the Team Leader will work closely with the Food Services Director to oversee and support the back-of-house team members. Responsibilities include communicating, tracking, training, and coaching team members to achieve and exceed goals related to speed, service, and food safety. The Food Services Team Leader plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and cultivating a positive, respectful, and supportive work culture within the kitchen, receiving, inventory, and food safety areas. They serve as mentors who guide their teams towards professionalism and performance goals, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.

Successful candidates are self-starters who can work efficiently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate a strong desire to serve others. This role requires leadership skills to manage a team of over 10 members, including scheduling and mentoring new staff. The Team Leader ensures all Chick-fil-A policies and procedures are followed, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and manages inventory effectively using the FIFO principle. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in leading others
  • Proven ability to lead a team of 10+ team members
  • Basic computer and iPad competency
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which includes, but is not limited to, standing for up to 10 hours and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Kitchen experience a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Delivers a remarkable experience to all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A, both internal and external
  • Ensures the back of house is adequately scheduled to meet the needs of our guests
  • Serves as a leader, trainer, and mentor to the BOH team members on his/her team
  • Trains new food services team members and follows up to ensure they’re equipped for success
  • Ensures Chick-fil-A policies and procedures are followed
  • Conducts one-on-one coaching sessions with team members, maintains a positive working relationship, and treats all employees with dignity, honor, and respect while holding them accountable for their individual responsibilities
  • Performs daily cleanliness, safety, and quality checks throughout all areas of the back of house
  • Responsible for inventory management, and ensures the products are being rotated using the FIFO principle
  • Complete understanding of each key position in the back of the restaurant
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the brand and menu items
