Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Three years of experience in food service operations and food preparation including service techniques, cashiering, sanitation standards, and general and modified diets in a large hospital or hotel/restaurant environment with leadership experience
- ServSafe Food Handler certification to be obtained within one year
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong leadership abilities including problem solving and decision making
- Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
Job Duties
- Manages all daily operations of the department and the food program
- Coordinates food preparation for patient tray assembly and delivery
- Manages the distribution of food and supplies to ancillary areas
- Directs and coordinates the development of menus to ensure quality, therapeutic appropriateness, and cost efficiency
- Develops menu cycles for retail operations and modifies menu choices as needed
- Prepares instructional material for staff training and conducts in-service education sessions
- Orients and trains employees in responsibilities such as food preparation, serving activities, recipe standardization, cashiering, infection control, fire safety, and cleanup consistent with HACCP guidelines
- Initiates and maintains outside vendor contracts, including evaluating pricing, negotiating contracts, soliciting bids, and ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Generates statistical reports, analyzes data and trends, and develops action plans for department improvement
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures covering tray-line, production, diet office, retail operations, procurement, portion and temperature control, and mobile meal programs
- Maintains food service safety programs and conducts regular safety inspections
- Establishes customer satisfaction quality standards and implements corrective actions based on feedback
- Develops and implements a comprehensive HACCP program for sanitation and regulatory compliance
- Monitors cost effectiveness including cash register balances, daily sales, equipment specifications, food specifications, and inventory management
- Performs human resources functions including coaching, performance reviews, hiring recommendations, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations
- Ensures compliance with ethical conduct codes and applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
