Job Description

St. John the Evangelist Catholic School is a respected educational institution dedicated to nurturing the academic, spiritual, and social growth of its students in the framework of Catholic values and teachings. The school strives to maintain an environment that supports the philosophy of Catholic education, emphasizing the importance of Gospel values, community involvement, and fostering respect among students, staff, and families. Located within the Archdiocese of Denver, this private Catholic school is committed to providing a wholesome and supportive school atmosphere where faith and learning are integrated seamlessly. The school operates under a structured organizational philosophy that ensures all faculty and staff adhere to established codes of conduct, confidentiality policies, and the overarching mission set forth by the Archdiocese. This full-time position reports directly to the school principal and requires a candidate who embodies a supportive attitude towards the Catholic Church and its teachings. The Food Services Manager oversees the school's lunch program, managing everything from menu planning, food preparation, and sanitary compliance to supervising cafeteria staff and volunteers. They are responsible for maintaining health department standards, including the Colorado State and Larimer County guidelines, and ensuring the kitchen is safe, clean, and well-organized. The role focuses on decision-making within the boundaries of school policies, requiring strong organizational and leadership skills to coordinate resources effectively.

This includes ordering supplies, managing inventory, and working on budget plans for food, supplies, and equipment procurement. In addition, the manager organizes and supervises special events such as the annual family luncheon and is responsible for creating a welcoming and seasonally decorated cafeteria environment.

Candidates are expected to have their own transportation for food pickups and deliveries, demonstrating independence and reliability. They must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Emotional composure, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are also vital since the manager interacts regularly with students, parents, and school staff, fostering a positive, respectful, and safe environment.

With compensation ranging between $17 and $18 per hour, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the nurturing environment of a Catholic education community.
