Job Description

Pilot Company is a prominent leader in the travel center industry, with a vast network spanning across the United States and Canada. Established in 1958 by Jim A. Haslam II and currently guided by CEO Adam Wright, Pilot Company has grown substantially to encompass more than 750 retail and fueling locations supported by a substantial team of over 30,000 members. Its operations are not limited solely to travel centers; the company's energy and logistics division is recognized as a top fuel supplier, boasting one of the largest tanker fleets and essential service provision to oil operations in some of the nation’s busiest basins.

As a company, Pilot Company is deeply committed to a people-first culture, rooted in its founding values and a dedicated mission to give back to the communities and stakeholders it serves. The company is inclusive in its hiring practices, welcoming all qualified applicants and encouraging military veterans to apply. This commitment extends internally as well, emphasizing a collaborative, supportive, and safety-conscious working environment.

The role of Shift Leader at Pilot Company is vital for ensuring smooth, efficient, and quality-driven operations within its restaurant facilities. A Shift Leader is a supervisory position responsible not only for overseeing the daily functions and employees within the restaurant but also for upholding the company’s high standards of customer service and operational excellence. This position demands a candidate with exceptional customer service skills who can attentively respond to customer needs, embodying the company’s customer-focused culture.

Beyond customer interaction, the Shift Leader role requires self-motivation and readiness to assist management in various tasks that contribute towards maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of the restaurant. This requires a working knowledge of store operations, the ability to work cohesively with both the managerial team and hourly employees, and flexibility to accommodate varying shifts, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays. The starting pay rate for this position ranges from $14.20 to $21.10 per hour, which reflects the company’s commitment to providing fair and competitive wages to its workforce.

Overall, the Shift Leader acts as a key intermediary between management and store employees, facilitating communication, supporting teamwork, and driving performance in line with Pilot Company’s expectations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, customer service, and leadership within a reputable, stable, and growth-oriented company.
