Job Description
Our organization is a mission-driven entity focused on advancing individuals towards dependency on Jesus Christ and achieving financial self-sufficiency, emphasizing the fulfillment of our ministry mission and core values. We operate a comprehensive food service program that supports our community through consistent meal preparation and service, ensuring nutritional quality and food safety standards. This program is central to our outreach efforts and requires dedicated personnel to manage kitchen operations efficiently and compassionately. Our team works in a fast-paced environment that fosters accountability, collaboration, and respect for the resources entrusted to us.
The role of Food Service Assistant is vital within our kitchen team, tasked with preparing large-batch meals to feed program participants and support daily food service operations. This position requires a committed individual who can maintain kitchen organization, uphold stringent food safety regulations, and contribute to a positive and mission-focused kitchen environment. Engaging with volunteers and student workers is also a key aspect of the role, providing support and guidance to ensure smooth and efficient meal service. The Food Service Assistant works closely with management to navigate challenges, seek clarity in job expectations, and continuously improve the quality of service provided.
Scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM, this role offers a structured but dynamic workweek. The ideal candidate brings experience in high-volume food preparation and understands the importance of nutrition and quality in meal service. We value those who demonstrate accountability, effective communication, and a proactive approach to solving problems and supporting team performance. While a culinary degree and ServSafe certification are advantageous, they are not mandatory at the time of hire; however, ServSafe certification will be required within six months. Driving a company vehicle is part of the job responsibilities, highlighting the need for dependable and responsible candidates.
