Job Requirements
- Two years' experience in institutional cooking, preferred
- Basic knowledge of institutional food service cookery, equipment, safety, sanitation, and food preparation
- Operates equipment, tools and machinery with skill and dexterity
- Ability to understand and follow directions and procedures
- Works well in stressful situation and maintains calm demeanor under pressure
- Ability to prevent or resolve conflict
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment using effective and thoughtful interactions and communication
- Basic computer, data entry, math, and grammar skills
- Skilled in clear and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication
- Ability to work with a diverse population with high barriers
- Access to a vehicle for frequent travel between TRM locations
Job Qualifications
- Two years' experience in institutional cooking, preferred

Job Duties
- Treats customers with dignity and respect
- Prepares, cooks, and serves a variety of foods
- Tracks meal counts, intern timecards, and community service hours
- Performs orientation for interns and volunteers
- Supervises the New Life Program participants, volunteers, and interns in a limited food preparation assignment and creates mutually beneficial experiences
- Receives and stores food and supplies
- Uses good general housekeeping techniques
- Cleans and sanitizes all food service equipment on a daily basis
- Cleans and sanitizes freezers and refrigerators as needed
- Cleans work areas, floors, windows, walls, storage rooms, and receiving areas weekly
- Performs preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment
- Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization's mission of sharing God's love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities
- Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment
