The role of the Cashier within Banner Health's Culinary & Nutrition department is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service in retail and dining areas. This full-time position typically entails working a varied shift schedule across 40 hours per week, with shifts generally spanning from early morning to evening hours, including weekends and holidays. Employees in this role benefit from an additional $1 per hour weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential for hours worked past 9 pm, enhancing overall compensation. The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to ensure an accurate and speedy processing of customer transactions while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, particularly in accurately handling cash, managing point-of-sale transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and stock levels of assigned stations. The Cashier plays a crucial role in restocking cafeteria items promptly to ensure continuous product availability and accessibility for customers. The position also involves responding to customer inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently to uphold high standards of service quality.

Ideal candidates for this position will exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and proficiency in rapid and repetitive cash handling and change calculation. While barista experience is considered a plus, it is not mandatory. Additionally, the role demands the ability to learn and operate various equipment including food handling tools, beverage brewing, dispensing equipment, and cleaning apparatus. Job Duties

  • Accurately record all sales in the point of sale system
  • transact payments with customers
  • store, count, deposit and maintain register cash and receivables in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • maintain all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive
  • provide service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines
  • respond to customer complaints and assist with problem resolution
  • perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned
