Our school food service program in Union Beach, NJ, is dedicated to providing nutritious and delicious meals to students from Pre-K through high school. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- good communication skills
- basic math skills for inventory and food preparation
- ability to handle food safely
- willingness to work the specified shift Monday through Friday, 5 hours per day
- must be reliable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- previous food service experience is a plus, but not required
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- strong communication and customer service skills
- dependable and punctual
Job Duties
- prepare cold food items
- assist with traying hot food items
- assist with serving meals on the lunch line
- serve students in a friendly and efficient manner
- package meals for Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms
- stocking, rotating food supplies, receive deliveries
- clean and sanitize kitchen and service areas after meal periods
- clean up after service, including washing dishes and equipment
- perform additional duties as assigned by the kitchen manager
