Job Description

CW Resources, a part of CW Group, is a nationally recognized non-profit organization with over 60 years of experience dedicated to providing high-quality, mission-driven services. Operating across the United States, CW Resources supports communities through a range of programs including vocational rehabilitation and nutrition-focused initiatives like Meals on Wheels. The organization prides itself on fostering a supportive and respectful workplace where every employee is valued for their unique contributions, emphasizing empowerment, inclusivity, and community strength. CW Resources upholds core values such as being mission-driven, emphasizing the power of teamwork, and recognizing the value each individual brings to the organization.

CW Resources is currently seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Mess Attendants/Food Service Workers. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to start a rewarding career supporting military dining operations. The role is primarily weekend-based, requiring availability every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, ideally suited for applicants seeking part-time work or supplemental income. No prior experience is necessary as CW Resources provides comprehensive on-the-job training supported by a dedicated team. Applicants who qualify under the AbilityOne Program, a federal initiative supporting adults with disabilities in securing employment and receiving supportive services, are especially encouraged to apply.

In this role, Mess Attendants/Food Service Workers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within military dining areas. This includes setting up service and dining areas, serving food in compliance with military regulations, operating cleaning and dishwashing equipment, and ensuring that sanitation standards are strictly followed. Additional duties involve restocking supplies, supporting meal service during high volume periods or special events, and assisting in managing inventory through proper storage and stock rotation according to FIFO principles. The work environment is dynamic and physically engaging, requiring standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and the ability to work in both hot and cold environments such as near ovens or inside walk-in refrigerators and freezers.

Safety and hygiene are paramount, and employees are expected to maintain rigorous adherence to military food safety and sanitation standards, reporting any equipment malfunctions or hazards promptly. The job also requires working cohesively with a team, contributing positively to the mission-driven culture at CW Resources, and adapting to busy, fast-paced meal periods with professionalism and efficiency. Finally, due to the irregular scheduling nature of the job, the position offers a fringe cash payment benefit in lieu of insurance coverage, supporting employees financially while they contribute to this essential service.

By joining CW Resources as a Mess Attendant/Food Service Worker, individuals become part of a team that honors their hard work and dedication with opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization. Employees benefit from access to wellness coordinators and programs designed to support overall health and work-life balance. This position not only provides stable employment but also fosters a deep sense of pride and purpose in supporting military personnel. CW Resources offers a vibrant, inclusive workplace where employees at all levels are encouraged to develop their skills and advance their careers, making it a compelling choice for those seeking meaningful and stable employment in food service operations within a mission-driven nonprofit environment.
