The role of Food Service Worker/Kitchen Helper/Dietary Aide at HCSG is an essential position within the foodservice team at long-term care facilities. This role involves assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents while adhering to dietary restrictions and portion sizes to ensure resident health and satisfaction. The Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas, safeguarding food safety by complying with established guidelines and practices. This position requires a team-oriented individual capable of interacting positively with residents, coworkers, and supervisors, providing excellent customer service and contributing to a supportive and efficient kitchen environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Maintain positive attitude and communicate effectively with building occupants administration and HCSG leadership
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 30 pounds push and pull a maximum of 50 pounds stand sit bend and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to perform routine repetitive tasks continuously
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required based on state or county law
  • Residency within the service area required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist with food preparation including chopping vegetables and preparing salads
  • Serve meals to residents according to dietary needs and portion sizes
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment utensils and dining areas
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Interact positively with residents staff and guests providing excellent customer service
  • Perform routine repetitive tasks continuously
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned
