The position available is an on-call Food Service Worker/Cashier based at Westminster School of Augusta in Augusta, GA. This role offers immediate employment opportunities with an hourly pay range between $12.00 and $15.00, depending on experience and qualifications. The schedule is flexible and on-call, with days and hours varying according to business needs.

As a Food Service Worker/Cashier, the team member will be responsible for a variety of food preparation and cashiering duties that contribute to maintaining the high standards expected by Compass Group and Flik Independent School Dining. Responsibilities include preparing food items such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, and ensuring all food is handled according to safety and sanitation protocols. The role also involves the operation of the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly and efficient customer service.

Associates in this position will be expected to uphold the cleanliness and safety standards of kitchen and dining facilities, including the cleaning of work areas and utensils. They will also interact with customers to address and resolve complaints professionally, ensuring a positive dining environment. Additional duties include managing inventory supplies, maintaining service areas, and following company procedures for cash handling and refunds.

Job Duties

  • Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
  • weighs and measures designated ingredients
  • carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
  • stores foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures
  • cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
  • ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
  • uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
  • interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • relays relevant information to supervisor
  • performs sales transactions
  • enters sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded
  • makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment
  • issues receipts to customers
  • follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
  • responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards
  • replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness
  • performs other duties as assigned
