Operating as a division of Compass Group, one of the world's largest foodservice companies, Eurest leverages its extensive global resources to deliver outstanding food experiences while maintaining a strong local presence in the communities it serves. With a focus on diversity, inclusion, and an ownership mindset, Eurest embodies a promise to connect with people, inspire through food, create solutions, and live up to its standards of excellence. The company proudly serves many of the world's most respected corporations, including numerous Fortune 500 companies, positioning itself as a trusted partner in foodservice management.

We are currently seeking to fill a full-time Food Service Worker/Cashier position located at the Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $18.00 per hour and is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced foodservice environment. The schedule is full-time, with days that may vary between 9:20 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering flexibility that can accommodate various needs. Applicants who possess experience as a cashier, in food service roles, customer service, or barista experience are especially encouraged to apply, although such experience is considered a plus rather than a strict requirement.

Duties include preparing fresh fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding, adhering strictly to safety and sanitation standards. The employee will be responsible for measuring ingredients, handling food trays and equipment safely, and maintaining cleanliness throughout work areas. Attention to food safety principles such as proper wrapping, dating, and rotation of foods is fundamental in this role.

In addition to food preparation, this position involves directly interacting with customers by serving food efficiently and courteously, handling sales transactions, and managing the cash register precisely. The Food Service Worker/Cashier must ensure all payments, including cash and declining balance cards, are processed accurately, issue receipts, and handle cash refunds following company protocols. Maintaining a tidy and well-stocked service area and promptly addressing customer concerns with a service-oriented mindset are also key components of this role.

Eurest offers its associates extensive benefits designed to support both personal and professional well-being. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, commuter benefits, and access to an employee assistance program, alongside flexible spending accounts. Additional perks include a retirement plan, associate shopping privileges, health and wellness programs, discount marketplaces, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and voluntary benefits such as critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance, legal services, and auto and home insurance programs. Paid and unpaid time off benefits are provided consistent with federal, state, and local regulations.

At Eurest, the emphasis on a drug-free workplace, ongoing professional development, and a diverse and inclusive culture ensures that employees are supported in their career journey. This role represents an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to join a reputable company making a meaningful impact in the foodservice industry while developing valuable skills and benefiting from comprehensive employee programs and support.
