Chartwells K12 is currently seeking to hire full-time Food Service Worker/Cashier positions at the American Leadership Academy located at 5901 East Thomas Road, Mesa, AZ. This opportunity offers a competitive hourly pay range between $15.15 and $17.50, depending on experience. The role of Food Service Worker/Cashier involves a variety of responsibilities centered on food preparation, cashier duties, and maintenance of a sanitary and safe dining environment. In addition to food preparation, workers will serve customers courteously and efficiently while handling sales transactions accurately using cash registers. The role requires precise cash handling, issuing receipts, and processing various payment types, including declining balance cards. Maintaining cleanliness in the service area and restocking condiments and beverages are also critical duties. Job Duties

  • perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
  • weigh and measure designated ingredients
  • carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment
  • store foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures
  • clean work areas, equipment and utensils
  • ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
  • interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • relay relevant information to supervisor
  • perform sales transactions
  • enter sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded
  • make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment
  • issue receipts to customers
  • follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
  • be responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards
  • replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness
  • perform other duties as assigned
