The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an hourly role with compensation ranging from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the food service operations by assisting the manager with meal preparation and maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. The Food Service Worker is responsible for ensuring high standards in food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

In this role, the Food Service Worker will prepare quality food and baked goods following planned menus, serve food according to meal schedules and departmental policies, and ensure proper storage of food items in a sanitary manner. The position involves preparing daily reports that verify meal transactions and coordinating with the manager daily to accurately execute the menu. The worker will also be responsible for the use and maintenance of kitchen equipment, especially knives, and adhere to all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, food handling, and storage.

The role is physically demanding and may require lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Uniform usage and personal protective equipment (PPE) may also be required to maintain safety and hygiene standards. The Food Service Worker will contribute to maintaining a safe and balanced work environment through regular cleaning and sanitation duties, including sweeping, mopping, washing ware, and maintaining garbage collection sites.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitary practices
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and long periods of standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
  • Reliable and punctual work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
