The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is vital for delivering high-quality food service experiences. This position is hourly paid, with compensation ranging from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. The role focuses on supporting the food service manager in various operational tasks including food preparation, maintaining cash and meal records, and completing daily reports. Food Service Workers must uphold strict standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety to ensure a safe and pleasant dining environment for customers.

Responsibilities include preparing food and baked goods following planned menus, accurately reporting daily transactions, and ensuring that food storage practices meet sanitary regulations. The position demands attention to detail in food presentation by adding garnishments to enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, Workers are responsible for cleaning duties involving kitchen equipment, refrigerators, and food service areas to maintain a hygienic workplace. The role requires collaborating daily with the manager to prepare menus and supervise food temperature controls.

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. The use of personal protective equipment and adherence to a uniform policy are also required. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or related field preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to adhere to uniform and PPE policies

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage requirements
