The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is essential in supporting daily food operations and maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. This position involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and contributing to the completion of daily reports. The worker ensures that all food items are prepared according to planned menus and that storage procedures meet sanitary standards. A crucial aspect of the role is using kitchen equipment properly and safely, with special attention to knives and other tools.

The Food Service Worker is responsible for serving food as per meal schedules and departmental policies, enhancing customer satisfaction through proper garnishing and presentation of meals. The role also involves coordinating and assisting with major cleaning tasks, such as refrigerators, freezers, steam tables, and other kitchen equipment. Adherence to food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage is mandatory. This position requires daily communication with the manager to understand and accurately prepare the menu, supervise temperature compliance for food items, and maintain organized and sanitary workspaces.

This role may have physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. It also requires compliance with uniform policies and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • use uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
