The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position within the food production and service team. This role assists the manager in various culinary and operational tasks to ensure high-quality food preparation and outstanding customer service. The position requires the Food Service Worker to maintain detailed cash receipts and meal records, complete daily reports, and uphold the highest standards in food production, kitchen sanitation, and safety. The worker plays a vital role in preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus and menus approved by management, guaranteeing both tastiness and visual appeal.
In this role, the Food Service Worker handles food storage following accurate and sanitary practices, serves food in accordance with scheduled meal times and department guidelines, manages kitchen equipment with care (including knives), and coordinates major cleaning of kitchen appliances and storage areas. Daily reporting on meal transactions is also a key responsibility. This role demands a strong commitment to following food safety laws and company regulations concerning cleanliness, storage, and food handling. Additionally, the worker is expected to maintain a clean, organized workspace, perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks, and manage waste disposal properly.
The job also comes with physical requirements such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing. Workers may be required to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment. Throughout daily operations, collaboration with the manager ensures alignment and timely preparation of menus to meet customer satisfaction. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- wear uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
