The Food Service Worker role at Aramark involves assisting the manager in all aspects of food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and ensuring that daily reports are completed accurately and on time. This position plays a critical role in upholding food safety standards, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The successful candidate will prepare quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, understand what is included in each meal, and ensure that food storage meets sanitary and safety standards.

Working closely with the manager, the Food Service Worker will also be responsible for food service operations such as serving meals according to schedules and department policies, using and caring for kitchen equipment properly, and assisting with major cleaning tasks including refrigeration and cooking equipment maintenance. The role requires adherence to all food safety regulations, uniform policies, and daily communication with the manager to ensure accurate menu preparation and supervision of food temperature standards.

This job demands physical activity including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms is mandatory to ensure safety. The role includes duties such as sweeping, mopping, warewashing, and maintaining an organized work environment to create a clean, safe, and balanced workspace. Flexibility is essential as job duties may evolve without formal notice to meet business needs.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • Use personal protective equipment when required
