The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position within the company’s food preparation and service team. This role is focused on assisting the manager with meal and food preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. A key responsibility includes ensuring that food is prepared and served to the highest standards of quality while strictly following safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
This position requires the worker to prepare a variety of foods and baked goods according to planned menus, add garnishments for visual appeal, and ensure timely service that aligns with set meal schedules. The worker must also be highly attentive to the storage of food items, ensuring all food is stored accurately and hygienically. An additional duty involves the proper use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and coordinating major cleaning efforts for refrigerators, freezers, and other cooking tools.
In this role, the Food Service Worker will regularly connect with the manager to understand the daily menu requirements clearly. They must also supervise food temperature standards to guarantee food safety and maintain clean, organized work and storage areas. Cleanliness is a top priority; thus, duties extend to scrubbing and polishing counters, sanitizing steam tables, sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, and ensuring garbage is carefully managed. This position involves physical requirements such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
