Serving as a vital component of Marine Corps life, MCCS ensures that the needs of service members and their families are met with professionalism and care. The organization fosters a team-oriented environment that brings together military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers, all working collaboratively to maintain seamless operations. The organization prides itself on a service-oriented culture that values teamwork, excellence, and respect within the military community.
The current vacancy is for the position of Food Service Worker Supervisor (NS-01), located at the Starbucks Coffee Shop on Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Hawaii. This position offers an opportunity to join a well-structured, dynamic team within MCCS that delivers high-quality food and beverage services to Marines and their families. As a Food Service Worker Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Starbucks outlet, ensuring both exceptional customer service and operational excellence. Your primary responsibility will include supervising NA-2 food service workers, which involves assigning and distributing tasks, providing coaching and mentoring, and overseeing performance evaluations. This role demands leadership skills to approve leave requests, complete personnel actions, and maintain high standards of safety, sanitation, and customer service.
Additionally, this supervisory role requires hands-on involvement in food and beverage preparation and service, including specialty coffee beverages and food items. You will be expected to ensure the quality and presentation of products meet established standards, manage inventory, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the service area. Preventative maintenance of equipment and adherence to store policies are also critical duties. Given MCCS’s commitment to workplace safety, this role involves developing and implementing safety plans, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
Employee benefits accompanying this position include a robust retirement plan with employer matching contributions, medical and dental insurance options, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, income replacement insurance, paid sick and vacation time, and access to an employee assistance program. The position demands physical effort, including frequent lifting and standing, and requires working in environments that may be warm and noisy, with exposure to potential hazards typical of food service settings.
Working at MCCS as a Food Service Worker Supervisor is more than a job; it is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Marine Corps community while growing professionally within a supportive and structured environment. The role is suitable for motivated individuals who excel in leadership, customer service, and operational management and who are dedicated to supporting the mission of MCCS and the Marine Corps as a whole.
