The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position that supports the smooth operation of food preparation and service within the organization. This hourly position, compensated at a competitive rate of $17.00 per hour, is designed to assist the manager in meal preparation, food handling, quality control, sanitation, cash receipt management, and completion of daily operational reports. In this role, the Food Service Worker will engage in a variety of duties that range from preparing quality meals and baked goods according to pre-planned menus to managing the storage and sanitation of food items and kitchen equipment. The position demands careful coordination with the management team to ensure daily menus are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include supervising food temperature requirements and maintaining organized, sanitary workspaces, reflecting Aramark's commitment to quality and customer service.

This position requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service preferred
  • Ability to comply with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
  • Flexible availability including possible weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Engage in physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
