The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a key position focused on supporting the daily food operations within the kitchen and dining environment. This role involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, ensuring that food quality, sanitation, and safety standards are consistently maintained. The Food Service Worker will handle cash receipts and meal records, assist in completing daily reports, and coordinate with kitchen management to prepare the menu of the day. This job requires a hands-on approach to food production, including the preparation of quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, proper storage of food in sanitary conditions, and timely serving according to meal schedules and departmental policies.
This position also entails the use and care of kitchen equipment and adherence to food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage. The Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing cooking and serving equipment, and managing garbage collection areas. Physical demands of the role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. The role may involve wearing uniforms and using personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous food service experience preferred
- ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods
- basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation
- good communication skills
- ability to follow directions accurately
- flexibility to work various shifts
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Duties
- prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- manage physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- comply with uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (ppe)
