The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position that supports the daily operations of food service within various settings. This role involves assisting the manager with meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, as well as helping complete daily reports to track transactions and operations. A critical component of this position is to uphold high standards of quality in food production while ensuring compliance with sanitation and kitchen safety practices. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, ensuring the accurate and sanitary storage of food, and serving meals in accordance with established schedules and departmental policies.

In this hands-on role, the Food Service Worker will utilize kitchen equipment effectively and safely, maintain an organized and clean working environment, and support thorough cleaning and sanitizing efforts for refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment. Food safety regulations are strictly followed to guarantee proper food handling and storage. The role requires ongoing communication with the manager to understand daily menu requirements and supervise food temperature controls to ensure customer satisfaction and food safety. The Food Service Worker must be physically capable of performing tasks that may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Additionally, adherence to uniform policies and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory to promote safety and hygiene.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment as required
