Aramark’s Food Service Worker position is an essential role within their food service operations, designed to support managers in the preparation and delivery of meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and safety. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping managers compile daily reports. The Food Service Worker plays a critical part in ensuring timely and efficient food production, from handling kitchen equipment properly to adhering strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations. This position also requires maintaining an organized, clean kitchen environment and complying with uniform and safety policies.

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, serving food on schedule following company and departmental policies, and properly storing food items to ensure freshness and safety. This role demands attention to detail in adding garnishments to dishes for customer satisfaction and contributing to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Food Service Workers must connect daily with managers to stay informed about menu plans and food temperature requirements, ensuring that all meals served meet the company’s high standards.

This role can be physically demanding and may require lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended standing or walking, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety. It requires someone who can work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and cleanliness. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service certification as needed
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Availability to adhere to uniform and safety policies
  • Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
