The Food Service Worker position at Wonderland Camp, located in Salem, WI, offers a seasonal employment opportunity with a competitive pay range from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service that FISD is known for. The position requires working a seasonal schedule from Sunday through Saturday, between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm, with specific details to be discussed at the interview stage. The Food Service Worker will be responsible for various kitchen and foodservice tasks such as preparing fruits and vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients, transporting food safely within the kitchen, and adhering to rigorous food safety protocols including proper wrapping, dating, and rotating of food items. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils is a key aspect, alongside distributing supplies effectively to ensure smooth operation. The role also involves utilizing approved recipes and production standards to guarantee quality and portion control, serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner, and addressing customer concerns professionally. Job Requirements
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to work Sunday through Saturday seasonal schedule from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying pans and trays
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Willingness to comply with company standards and policies
- Must be at least 18 years old
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and food safety procedures
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
Job Duties
- Prepares prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
- Weighs and measures designated ingredients
- Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
- Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
- Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
- Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor
- Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
