Job Description
The Nutrition Group (TNG) is a reputable food service management company established in 1975. With nearly five decades of experience, TNG has expanded its operations across seven states, establishing itself as a leader in the food service management industry. The company is dedicated to providing delicious and healthy meals to its clients consistently throughout the year. TNG prides itself on fostering long-term relationships with its clients, customers, and team members by emphasizing a collaborative and supportive work environment that values each individual's contribution.
TNG operates with a clear focus on quality, nutrition, and service, ensuring that their food offerings meet the highest standards. Their commitment to excellence extends beyond just meal preparation, encompassing sanitation, compliance with health regulations, and cost management practices. The company ensures that all team members have the tools and training needed to succeed and grow within their roles.
The current opportunity is a position based in either Strath Haven High School or Strath Haven Middle School kitchens or cafeterias. This role offers a schedule consisting of daylight hours from Monday to Friday, with no expectations to work evenings, weekends, or holidays. Moreover, employees benefit from paid time off and participation in a 401(k) retirement savings plan, enhancing work-life balance and financial security.
As a food service team member at TNG, the responsibilities encompass cooking and food preparation, portioning and serving meals, maintaining sanitation standards in alignment with USDA and state guidelines, and ensuring compliance with HAACP and health department regulations. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are crucial as the company prioritizes health and well-being through rigorous regulation compliance.
In addition to food handling and serving duties, the position involves assisting in monitoring costs and inventory controls to support operational efficiency. This reflects TNG's focus on sustainable business practices and maintaining value for clients while delivering quality services.
Applicants for this position should demonstrate a positive and consistent work ethic, possess reliable transportation to and from the workplace, and have a willingness to learn and develop within their role. Experience in food service, computer literacy, and strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred qualifications, ensuring that team members can effectively contribute and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, occasional sitting, pushing, pulling, walking, and lifting weights exceeding 40 pounds. TNG is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace and considers all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. The company is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fairness and equity.
Choosing to work with The Nutrition Group means joining a supportive team that values dedication and fosters professional growth. With its strong foundation and commitment to quality food service and employee welfare, TNG creates an enriching work environment where employees can build rewarding careers in the food service management industry.
