The Food Service Worker at Aramark plays a vital role in supporting the food operation by assisting managers in various food and meal preparation tasks as well as maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. This role carries significant responsibility in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety are consistently met. The Food Service Worker is instrumental in preparing quality foods and baked goods according to a set menu while adhering to all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage. Beyond food preparation, this role involves timely completion of detailed daily reports verifying transactions and communicating effectively with management regarding menu requirements and food temperature control.
In addition, the Food Service Worker maintains clean and organized work and storage areas, contributes to major cleaning efforts of refrigeration and cooking equipment, and follows strict uniform and personal protective equipment policies. This role demands physical stamina and attention to detail, including the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand or walk for extended periods. The incumbent must be adept at using and caring for kitchen equipment, including knives, and must contribute to creating a pleasant and appealing food presentation, such as adding garnishments to dishes for customer satisfaction. This position is not only pivotal in maintaining operational standards during food service but also in upholding a sanitary and safe kitchen environment that aligns with Aramark’s mission to serve with excellence. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
