The Food Service Worker role at WSC is centered on delivering excellent food preparation and dining area maintenance services within a food service environment that exposes employees to various physical conditions including significant heat or cold, moving equipment parts, vibration, and loud noise levels. The key responsibilities for the Food Service Worker include performing a broad range of sanitation and food service tasks such as cleaning dining areas, restocking condiments and beverages, performing dishwashing duties, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the service lines. Ensuring all equipment and service areas meet high sanitation standards, conducting temperature checks on food products, and addressing waste management duties are integral to maintaining operational excellence.

Job Duties

  • Perform food service worker duties as required by the standards in the Food Service Worker OJT
  • adhere to the sanitation requirements in the dining room including cleaning tables, chairs, beverage lines, microwaves, and condiment carts
  • restock condiments as required
  • replenish juice and coffee as needed
  • sweep and mop floors as needed and at shift end
  • vacuum carpets as needed and at shift end
  • break down beverage line at shift end
  • clean coffee pots at shift end
  • perform dishwashing duties including setting up and tearing down dishwasher, unloading carts, pre-scraping and loading dishes, washing utensils, and ensuring cleanliness and dryness of dishes
  • ensure serving area is properly stocked with service items
  • empty trash at shift end
  • perform line-serving duties including temperature checks on service line products, maintaining cleanliness of line and surrounding areas, assisting in product replenishment, and maintaining area to standards during and after meals
  • maintain professional conduct in accordance with WSC policy
  • perform other job-related duties as required by supervisor
