The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is essential to maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices within the kitchen environment. In this position, you will assist the manager with food and meal preparation, maintain cash receipts and meal records, and contribute to the daily operational reporting required to keep the kitchen running smoothly. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to food safety regulations, and a cooperative approach to team tasks including cleaning and kitchen maintenance. The Food Service Worker will be responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods following the planned menu, ensuring proper food storage, and serving meals in accordance with department policies and schedules.

Besides the core food preparation duties, this position involves the use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and the responsibility to add garnishments to enhance customer satisfaction and visual appeal of meals. The role also includes supervision of food temperature requirements, coordinating major cleaning tasks for kitchen equipment such as refrigerators and freezers, and rigorous adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking are inherent to the job, making physical stamina a key attribute.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
