The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an essential role focused on supporting food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction. This role involves assisting the manager with meal preparation and maintaining accurate records of cash receipts and meals served. Food Service Workers ensure compliance with health and safety standards by adhering to strict sanitation and food handling regulations. Daily responsibilities extend to preparing quality meals and baked goods from established menus, managing food storage effectively, and maintaining an organized work environment. The position demands a high level of attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to customer service, including adding garnishes to meals to enhance presentation and appeal.
In addition to food preparation, Food Service Workers participate in routine cleaning tasks, including scrubbing counters, sanitizing steam tables, and maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen floors and garbage collection sites. They also support inventory management by coordinating the cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment. Physical stamina is important as the role may require lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, as well as prolonged periods of standing and walking. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with uniform standards are integral to maintaining a safe and professional workplace.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- good communication skills
- ability to follow instructions accurately
- flexibility to work various shifts
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, moping, and ware washing
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- comply with uniforms and usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
