Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a food service setting
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to attend required trainings
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in preparing meals for people with special dietary needs is a plus
  • One year of experience in a food service setting

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas including Physician's dining areas as needed
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Take and deliver food orders to patients to/from nursing units
  • Follow dish machine procedures, fill, and check temperature document
  • Wash and properly store all dishware
  • Clean filters in cafeteria and kitchen, clean trashcans, carts, and dish machine once a week
  • Clean and sanitize work area at the end of the shift
  • Use clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, patients, all customers internal and external
  • Use AIDET in interactions with patients and family members
  • Act with a sense of urgency when performing tasks
  • Perform basic unit/department maintenance such as keeping files, drawers, cabinets free from unnecessary clutter
  • Report on any equipment and environmental issues for repair
  • Abide by HIPAA regulations
  • Speak up to stop the line and escalate potential safety events if necessary
  • Complete and attend monthly training assigned
  • May float to other areas of the hospital as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
