The role of the Patient Food Service Team Member at UCSF involves working closely with team members to deliver high-quality food service to patients in a manner that is safe, accurate, timely, and responsive to each patient's unique dietary requirements and preferences. This position requires attention to detail in assembling and delivering patient trays, as well as maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. The individual in this role serves as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department, ensuring positive interactions with patients and nursing staff that reflect the department's dedication to excellent customer service and patient satisfaction. Compensation for this role is competitive and is determined based on factors including experience and internal pay equity, with the final offer subject to UCSF policy approvals.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or patient care preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • stocking and serving portion controlled hot and cold food
  • replenishing stations
  • restocking work stations
  • assembly, delivery and collection of patient trays
  • maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and equipment
  • providing excellent patient and nursing interactions
