Job Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required and must provide proof at time of interview
Ability to read and write English
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations related to weights, measures, and tallies
Ability to operate foodservice equipment
Ability to work with patients and the general public
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to push, pull, reach, lift, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
Ability to lift heavy objects

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Assembles patient trays according to specified diet order
Portions and serves hot and cold food according to departmental standards
Delivers food, supplies, nourishments and patient trays to points of usage
Stores food and supplies issued from the storeroom according to department regulations
Collects used patient trays and returns them to the department
Performs all routine and special cleaning tasks including dishwashing, washing pots and pans, equipment cleaning, and floor maintenance
Removes food waste and trash from department areas and disposes of waste according to established procedures
Operates foodservice equipment such as pressure cleaners, blenders, vegetable cutting machines, can openers, food brewers, dishwashers, and cash registers
Follows hospital and department safety and sanitation policies
Attends in-service training and departmental meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
