The Food Service Worker role at Baptist Health is essential in maintaining the health and satisfaction of patients and guests. This position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in strict compliance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. The role requires delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, serving guests with positive customer relations, and replenishing used foods and supplies as needed. Additionally, sanitation duties and dishroom responsibilities are integral parts of the daily task list to ensure a clean and safe food service environment. The Food Service Worker also handles cashier duties for food sales in the cafeteria following established policies, sets up and serves meals for corporate retail, catering, and other dining outlets, and participates in decorating buffet and reception tables.

This position demands a multi-skilled individual capable of working independently who can perform all food service functions confidently and support the training of others. The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.49 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 2 years of food and nutrition experience highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality service infection control and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests maintaining positive customer guest relations
  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned daily
  • Collect payments for guest trays
  • Handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail catering Doctors Dining Room and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
  • Support training of others in food service responsibilities
