Job Description

Baptist Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in its region, with a substantial presence across Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The organization operates 12 hospitals and over 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices, serving a broad community with expert medical care. With a workforce exceeding 29,000 employees and over 4,500 physicians, Baptist Health has established several internationally recognized centers of excellence in fields such as cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. This comprehensive healthcare network is supported by philanthropies and driven by a faith-based mission emphasizing medical excellence.

This commitment to quality and care has not gone unnoticed, as Baptist Health has been a consistent presence on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 26 years. It was also the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, receiving 63 high-performing honors. What truly differentiates Baptist Health from other healthcare providers is its people—employees who forge personal connections that extend beyond just providing medical services. The organization’s culture fosters genuine relationships among colleagues, patients, and families, inspired by a shared experience of empathy and compassion.

Baptist Health values its employees and supports them throughout their personal and professional journeys. The hospital system promotes a "grow our own" philosophy, encouraging employees to develop meaningful, long-term careers within the organization. This supportive environment includes career growth opportunities, comprehensive health and wellness resources that exceed traditional benefits, and a wellness program designed to reduce employees' out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Additional benefits include tuition reimbursement for continued education and training.

The current role available at Baptist Health is a multifaceted position centered on food service and nutrition within the hospital environment. This role involves preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients while maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, infection control, and food safety. The person in this role will also be responsible for delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, serving guests, and ensuring positive customer relations. Maintaining clean and sanitary work areas and handling financial transactions for food sales in the cafeteria are also important aspects of the job.

Additional responsibilities include setting up and serving meals for various dining outlets such as corporate retail, catering, and special doctors' dining rooms, decorating buffet and reception tables, and performing dish room duties. The role requires a dedicated focus on safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction. Employees in this role contribute directly to the holistic care approach Baptist Health is known for, helping ensure that those in the healthcare system experience not just medical treatment but also compassionate, courteous service in every aspect.

The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, depending on experience. This wage reflects Baptist Health’s commitment to fair compensation for employees who play an integral role in the patient and guest experience. Those interested in this position will find themselves contributing to an organization where mission-driven care and employee support are paramount. Baptist Health is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities and veterans.
