Job Description

Baptist Health stands as the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the region, operating with a vast network that includes 12 hospitals, over 29,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and approximately 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices scattered throughout Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Renowned for its commitment to medical excellence and supported by a faith-based mission, Baptist Health has carved its name with internationally acknowledged centers of excellence focused on cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. The health system's dedication to quality has earned it astounding recognition, including being named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For for 26 consecutive years and securing 63 high-performing honors in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings—the most in South Florida.

What makes Baptist Health truly exceptional is its people-centered approach. The organization fosters deep personal connections that transcend the confines of the workplace. These meaningful relationships extend not only among colleagues but also to patients and their families, driven by a shared commitment to compassion and quality care. Many Baptist Health professionals have personally experienced the healthcare challenges faced by patients, which fuels their dedication towards exceptional service and empathy. With a culture grounded in purposeful action, every employee is an integral driver of positive impact—living the mindset that when it comes to caring for people, everyone is fully involved and committed.

Within this enriching environment, Baptist Health offers a Food Service Worker position that plays a crucial role in supporting patient care through food preparation and service with a focus on quality, safety, and hospitality. This role is part of a team responsible for preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals tailored to meet high standards of infection control, food safety, and customer service. The Food Service Worker acts as an ambassador of care, ensuring patient nutrition and satisfaction while maintaining cleanliness and replenishing food supplies efficiently.

This role involves delivering stock to patient floor kitchens, handling guest service interactions, collecting payments for guest trays, and performing dish room duties. Additionally, responsibilities extend to setting up and serving meals during corporate retail functions, catering events, and in Doctors Dining Room and other dining outlets, including decorative presentation of buffet and reception tables. The Food Service Worker is expected to operate independently while being cross-trained in various food service functions to ensure flexibility and reliability, with the added responsibility of supporting the training of new members.

The position offers an estimated hourly salary ranging from $16.00 to $19.49, depending on experience. It provides an opportunity to be part of a respected healthcare system that not only values medical excellence but also places a strong emphasis on the professional development and well-being of its employees. Baptist Health provides a wealth of career growth and development opportunities, comprehensive health and wellness resources, tuition reimbursement programs, and innovative benefit schemes such as wellness programs aimed at reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Being a member of Baptist Health means joining a community committed to long-term career fulfillment, supported by a nurturing environment where every team member plays a vital role in making a difference every day.
