Job Description

Baptist Health is a premier not-for-profit healthcare organization that stands as the largest regional provider with a vast network of 12 hospitals, over 28,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and more than 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices spread across Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Known for its faith-based mission of medical excellence, Baptist Health has gained national recognition and accolades, including being named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For for 25 consecutive years. The organization's centers of excellence encompass various specialties such as cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences, supported by both philanthropic efforts and advanced medical practice. Baptist Health's commitment to quality care and innovation places it at the forefront of healthcare services in South Florida, as reflected by its 45 high-performing honors in the 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, making it the most awarded healthcare system in the region.

The role being offered is pivotal within the food service division of Baptist Health and focuses on contributing to an exceptional patient and guest experience by managing and delivering nutritional needs efficiently and with care. This position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while ensuring compliance with strict infection control, food safety standards, and overall quality and service excellence. The individual in this role will be responsible for replenishing supplies and maintaining cleanliness in patient floor kitchens, engaging in positive customer and guest interactions, and handling food transactions responsibly as a cashier in cafeteria settings. Additional responsibilities include setting up and serving meals for a variety of outlets including corporate retail, catering events, and specialized dining areas like the Doctors Dining Room, as well as decorating buffet and reception tables to enhance the dining ambiance.

This job requires a person who is versatile, capable of performing multiple food service functions independently, and cross-trained to support peers and contribute to effective training efforts. The role is integral not only to food preparation and service but also to ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction through thoughtful and attentive service delivery. By joining Baptist Health in this capacity, the employee becomes part of a culture deeply rooted in purpose, compassion, and a shared commitment to putting patients first. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards that Baptist Health exemplifies in both healthcare and auxiliary services, contributing to a holistic health care experience for patients and guests alike.
