With a comprehensive network that includes 12 hospitals, over 29,000 dedicated employees, 4,500 physicians, and approximately 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices, Baptist Health is synonymous with medical excellence and compassionate care. Recognized internationally for its centers of excellence in cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences, the organization is both philanthropic and faith-driven in its mission to provide outstanding healthcare services. For over 26 years, Baptist Health has been honored as one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For, reflecting its unwavering commitment to creating a supportive, empowering work environment. Additionally, in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, Baptist Health was South Florida's most awarded healthcare system, receiving 63 high-performing honors.
What truly distinguishes Baptist Health is its people. The organization's culture is deeply rooted in purpose, compassion, and community, fostering personal connections among colleagues and meaningful relationships with patients and their families. This shared experience of care fuels a commitment to quality and empathy that extends beyond the workplace. Baptist Health’s supportive atmosphere encourages professional growth and personal development through a clear "grow our own" philosophy. Employees benefit from career growth opportunities, comprehensive health and wellness resources that go beyond traditional benefits, an innovative wellness program aimed at reducing out-of-pocket healthcare costs, tuition reimbursement to promote continued learning, and much more. This dedication ensures that team members can build meaningful, long-term careers while making a tangible difference every day.
The role available at Baptist Health is crucial in maintaining the high standards of patient care and hospitality that the organization is known for. The position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in strict accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. It also includes delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, serving guests while maintaining positive customer and guest relations, replenishing used foods and supplies appropriately, and completing sanitation duties. Additionally, the role requires performing dish room duties as assigned and managing cash transactions for food sales as a cafeteria cashier under established policies. This position also supports meal set-up and service for corporate retail, catering, the Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets, along with decorating buffet and reception tables as assigned.
Importantly, this role supports a multi-faceted connection to the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of customers and is expected to perform all functions independently. Cross-training in various food service responsibilities and the ability to support the training of others highlights the dynamic nature of this role. Compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, depending on experience, underscoring the value Baptist Health places on skilled, compassionate team members ready to contribute to a superior patient experience.
