The Food Service Worker position at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center plays a vital role within the Food and Nutrition Services Department. This part-time role, scheduled for at least 40 hours per week, includes rotating shifts that may consist of 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts across weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with a schedule that is subject to change. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the preparation, assembly, and sanitation of food as well as equipment in various settings such as patient care service areas, the storeroom, cafeteria, and catering operations. Food Service Workers are expected to deliver exceptional customer service, adhering strictly to policies that regulate food safety including proper food and equipment temperatures, hand hygiene, food storage, and reheating protocols. The position involves safely cleaning all food preparation equipment and areas to maintain a sanitary environment.

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional service to customers in assigned area including cafeteria and patient care areas
  • Coordinate with colleagues to prepare, store and serve food to customers effectively
  • Understand and follow policies and procedures for proper food and equipment temperatures, hand washing, food storage and proper cooling and reheating procedures
  • Safely clean all equipment and food preparation areas
  • Support sanitation of equipment and ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Assist in food production and assembly according to departmental guidelines
  • Maintain inventory and storeroom organization as needed
