The Food Service Worker position is based at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Illinois. This is a part-time role within patient services, specifically aligned with the second shift and rotating shift schedules. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food service preferred
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Must adhere to uniform and PPE policies
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
