The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position within the foodservice division, designed to assist in the preparation and serving of meals while maintaining impeccable standards of sanitation, food safety, and customer service. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that food production meets quality expectations and that meal schedules and records are accurately maintained. The Food Service Worker will work closely with management to prepare daily reports and oversee kitchen operations, including handling of kitchen equipment and maintaining cleanliness and organization. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that food is stored properly and served in compliance with department policies and food safety regulations.
This role involves a variety of duties, from food preparation and garnishing to cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen environment. Candidates should be prepared for physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and extended standing or walking. The position requires attention to detail to maintain balanced and safe food environments and adherence to company uniform policies and use of personal protective equipment as necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to follow safety protocols
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Use of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)
